Weird that I actually read a commentary on a story, but getting a glimpse of your writing process definitely adds a layer of depth to the fic that's easy to gloss over if you're just reading. One of my favorite bits is Shawn's tiny shudder at the mention of derringer's name, and I know it's unknowable trauma ... but couldn't it possibly be KNOWABLE trauma? lol. shamefully, I just want more whump and car-dragging sounds like something you could do an awesome job on. just a thought. :D:D:D

First off well done on this story. I love the description, the temperature of the lights, the blues. I adore Sleeping!Shawn! So adorable and hands down the best part of Shot in the Dark! I like how you've stripped him down some here. You've removed his bravado, his exuberance, his antics, his mouth. Lol, not literally, but we all know Shawn is his mouth, basically. But here he is in pain, drugged, sleepy, scared, traumatized. All lending to a Shawn that's been scrubbed of his surface. I like the quiet, it's so pervasive. Like I can hear the clink of Lassie stirring his coffee and the hum of traffic far off, the tick of a clock somewhere. In this place where sounds and lights equal vulnerability, but the hush and darkness of the night protects the three of them.
And second of all, these commentary things seemed some strange illogical idea that I couldn't wrap my head around. And then you came along, lol! Anyway, your commentary cracked your story open, like cracking an acorn and being surprised but the soft green inside. Lol, and yes, I'm aware that sounds ridiculous! But it was a pleasant surprise to see the wizard behind the curtain. And hearing your ideas on what makes a story work, why certain styles work best for you, etc. And it's very inspirational to other writers. It made me think twice about my own process. And it was great to hear which were your favorite parts too.Well, I think I've done my fair share of rambling here, so thanks for your writing, always a huge joy to read your work!

First, you always amuse me, Luna! I love reading your ramblings!
"I always get a tiny thrill when I manage something that just hits me with an image as clear as this one is." I so know what you mean by this - I love attempting to put an image like that on paper. I guess it is why we write!
