Summary: Shawn knows he's going to have to apologise to Gus and Lassie later – well, maybe not Lassie. Lassie's letting his vendetta get inbetween him and the case at hand. Next time, if he has to steal someone's gun, he'll pilfer one off of McNab. That guy is way too nice for his own good.

Waiit for iiiiiitt... Disclaimer: In no way do I own Psych. I'm just a fan who plays around with the innocent characters (that I don't own) like a boss. The real boss is Steve Franks and I have never met him or anyone else involved in psych. Don't sue me. ;P

1. He's a Jerryatric man by whirlgirl [Reviews - 12] starstarstarstarstar (1110 words)
I haven't written a fanfic in ages because I've been working on writing my own novel. But since I procrastinated and stumbled onto this site, I may as well contribute. This will be my first ever venture into the Psych world.

Oh yeah, this is not betaed at all. Or proofread. Or edited. However, since this is going to be a multi-chaptered fic, I'm considering getting a beta. (But only if a lot of mistakes are found. So please, have at it. Find those mistakes so I can get a beta.)

2. Lassie to the rescue by whirlgirl [Reviews - 8] starstarstarstarstar (1230 words)
Sorry for the wait, was supposed to have finished this two hours ago. I could use the excuse that I was out most of the day but the truth is that I really struggled with this chapter. (My muse decided to go in a completely different direction to what I originally planned.)

Anyway enjoy. (Once again, look out for mistakes. If you find a lot I will look into getting a beta.)

3. SBPD - Sicced By Police Detective by whirlgirl [Reviews - 5] (1095 words)
Wow, I'm really surprised at the response to this story. Especially after the last chapter. In fact, a lot of you are doubting my abilities in terms of realism. Not that I mind. It just means I'm bouncing around in my seat trying desperately not to give away what's happening next in my review responses.

Anyway, there's some Shules in this so you better enjoy.

4. Henry speaks mumble by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1135 words)
This one is earlier than the others, I know. I hope this one appeases you until the next update. Speaking of updates, I've been updating as soon as I've finished writing a chapter. (This is generally every 24 or so hours even with RL demands)

I need a break so I can plan ahead a bit. That, and I'm not used to writing a thousand words a day. I'm used to only writing somewhere between 300-500 a day. As such, the next update will only come in about two to three days time. After that, I'll try to update daily again.

P.S. I'm having way to much fun coming up with titles for this fic. :)

5. Resting easy by whirlgirl [Reviews - 5] starstarstarstarstar (1049 words)
Sorry about the small update break. I had to flesh out some important extraneous details for the mystery of the shooter before updating again. It may all be in my head but sometimes it's good to write it out. My planning for this story is about as long as one of my chapters.

Word wanted me to change ‘your dad’ into ‘you’re dad’. I refused. It’s no wonder people get the two words confused. I also tried to avoid any medical fallacies but there is a high likelihood that I got something wrong anyway.

6. A rain of bullets and a shower of glass by whirlgirl [Reviews - 6] starstarstarstarstar (1060 words)
I'm pretty sure that Word is deliberately trying to give me grammatically incorrect suggestions. It's not 'the pair of them is'; it is 'the pair of them are'. I'm not a grammar expert and I know that at least.

Oh yeah, I am the type to foreshadow so watch out for clues. I've already given out quite a lot of subtle ones.

7. FBI is one letter away from FYI by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1216 words)
Apparently Word seems to think that the word ‘frustratedly’ doesn’t exist. My offline dictionary tells me otherwise. In fact, Word nearly convinced me that it didn’t exist. I’ve never had this much of a problem with Word before. Then again, I haven’t actually used Word for my writing in a long time.

I find it hard to find a balance of description and dialogue in what I call dialogue-heavy chapters. That’s the reason this chapter is a little late. But really, you can’t complain, I update really regularly and two days is not a long wait. ;P

8. Lying low... by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (937 words)
Has anyone ever tried to write/upload a chapter via Android tablet -- it is hard. I love my tablet don't get me wrong but it's not made for writing. My touch typing skills are useless on a touch screen keyboard.

Updates will be every 2-3 days because my laptop has issues and my tablet is harder to write on. I also have RL stuff in the way after this week so that's another reason why.

9. Ewing's scaremongering by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] starstarstarstarstar (1195 words)
Some humour and some scaremongering for you all in this chapter. Sorry about the short length of the last chapter. I don't have a good grip on how much I'm writing when I'm using my tablet.

Hope you enjoy.

P.S. I'm also busy working on drawing the scene where Juliet gets shot in this story so look out for that.. :)

10. The proof is in the detail by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] starstarstarstarstar (1239 words)
When I said that RL was going to get in the way, I honestly didn't realise how much. I guess going from being out two to three hours a day to full on 8 hours plus a day is a lot different from what I'm used to. Expect updates over the weekend only from now on.

Please enjoy this, I know it has been a whole week since the last update. To make up for it, I've linked the pic I drew for this fic early last week in my end notes.

11. Shawn's shadows are shoddy chauffeurs by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] (1201 words)
Like the alliteration in my title? I still have way too much fun coming up with chapter titles.

Next installment will be in a week. If I had to guess, there's only a few chapters to go before this story is over.

12. Deductive psychicing by whirlgirl [Reviews - 5] starstarstarstarstar (1143 words)
You might be lucky and have two chapters this weekend because it's a long weekend where I am. I'll see how I'm going on the work front and if I finish early you might get another chapter up.

On an unrelated note: I realised there's a pattern to the ratings I'm given. I'm rated for 2 chapters then no one rates for 2 chapters and so on and so forth. I can't believe that I'm 12 chapters in and this hasn't been broken yet. I like patterns. :)

13. Shawn speaks mumble too by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1106 words)
Laptop died again but I'm happy with typing on my tablet now. Swype keyboard rocks; it's much easier to slide through letters than to tap on a touch screen. It even adds the spaces automatically!

14. His other half by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1129 words)
You guys were lucky last week with a double update. I might update again tomorrow if I have time.

I'm pretty sure this story is going to be massive because every time I say that there's only a few chapters to go, it ends up being more. I'm still mostly sticking to my plan, it's just my plan doesn't take into account witty banter and description.

15. Impressed is a shade of pink by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1227 words)
I just want to take the time to thank my reviewers. To all of you who have apologised for not reviewing regularly due to Real Life matters: It's no big deal. The fact that you're enjoying my story and reviewing when you can is greatly appreciated. While reviews are great, I'm not the type to force people into doing so.

Now that I'm done with my 5-week stint as a student teacher, I'll be back on psychfic for more than a couple of minutes each day. Yay! I get to read some of the newer fics I've missed on here.

16. Two shots equal one shot by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] (1075 words)
This is the chapter I've been looking forward to for a while now. I wrote this one on my tablet while sick. Even though I've looked it over I can't see any mistakes because my brain is so addled. However, I made an executive decision to post it because the faster this gets done, the faster I can get back to writing my book.

Despite this attitude, I still have standards in terms of quality and plot so don't think this will start going downhill. :-)

17. The irony is strong in this one by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1193 words)
I may be evilly giving you cliffhangers but, on the upside, this is my second update this week!

This one I really struggled with. Mainly because I'm a big dialogue fan and this is more action-packed. In the end though, I'm happy with how it turned out. :)

18. Gut-feelings at HQ by whirlgirl [Reviews - 4] starstarstarstarstar (1223 words)
I'm sorry! I was going to put you guys out of your misery but I had to switch around the next two chapters for the story to better make sense.

Although, you should be glad to find out that I was writing these chapters in conjunction so you'll see the next chapter sometime in the next 24 hours.

19. Slowly (dis)appearing by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] starstarstarstarstar (1127 words)
I told you I'd get this to you in under 24 hours. In fact it's a lot closer to 12. Just finished my last exam and am now on holiday... Yay!

I can honestly say that there will only be 5 or 6 chapters left of this fic if I can help it. (I will stick to my plan this time!) I've got a novel waiting for me that I can't wait to get to.

20. Under their noses by whirlgirl [Reviews - 2] (1263 words)
Man, you guys are lucky! 4 chapters in the last 7 days. Remember how I asked you to guess who works it out last chapter? Now you're going to find out!

As a side note, if you haven't checked out the challenge I've recently posted, please do!

P.S. If you want me to review something of yours feel free to ask, I've been on a reviewing spree lately.

21. Still a part of the feed by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] starstarstarstarstar (1120 words)
This would have been up earlier if I felt the need to rewrite it. Since I didn't, I had to wait till my laptop decided to work again to post what I had already written.

Hope you enjoy!

22. Relocation! Relocation! Relocation! by whirlgirl [Reviews - 4] starstarstarstarstar (1151 words)
Decided to use Google Docs while writing this fic. That way I don't have to worry about saving cuz it automatically does that and I have up-to-date working documents shared to all my devices!

Anyway, enjoy this next chapter! Its still in Shawn's Pov. Next chapter will be following the SBPD's Pov again.

23. Saving Sorry Asses by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] (984 words)
I really struggled to write this chapter. One reason being that I'm bringing all the elements of the plot together and the other being that I'm working on my novel at the same time so its hard to get my head around different characters so quickly.

Still, I hope this satisfies your curiosity until the next chapter.

24. A familiar location by whirlgirl [Reviews - 5] starstarstarstarstar (1123 words)
Heya, I'm back with no real excuse for the slight update break. I've been on holidays and have been out a lot more. When I've been home I've kind of prioritised my novel. Don't worry, this will still be finished. It's nearing it's end, obviously.

25. A new feed by whirlgirl [Reviews - 3] starstarstarstarstar (1110 words)
Sorry this is late. I had to do a bit of research for this fic before putting it up. I don't want any obvious plot discrepancies, now do I? Next chapter will be back at the SBPD again.

26. Evening out the field by whirlgirl [Reviews - 10] starstarstarstarstar (1114 words)
Sorry for the late update. It was caused by a mixture of job-hunting and writer's block. It's a hard economy. :(
