Juliet was in the middle of typing up the paperwork for a case they'd recently closed when she heard the loud voice of her boyfriend, Shawn Spencer, ringing through the station.
"HEEERE'S SHAWNIE!" He bellowed out from the doorway. He was quickly making his way through the crowd, greeting and smiling at everyone, and over to Juliet.
"Well there's my crafty little doodle-pumpkin!" he said as he placed a bag on her desk.
"I'm very busy Shawn." She said without looking up. "Carlton is away for the weekend for a convention and I'm in charge of finishing all this left over work."
He pouted. "I don't even get a hello from my Baby Blossom Butt."
She smirked and finally looked up. "Maybe because you keep using names like "Doodle-pumpkin" and "Baby Blossom Butt". Where do you even come up with these?"
He shrugged and kept the adorable pout on his face. "And now you're insulting my nickname generating? Jules... why must you hurt me so much? I got you lunch."
She laughed and shook her head. "Shut-up." she stood up and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. Normally she wouldn't do this so openly, being that Carlton would die.
"So what did you bring me?"
"A wrap like you asked." he said and then smirked. "Plus some delicious pineapple."
She smiled fondly at him as she sat back down. "Thank you, Shawn."
"Anything for my delicious little pineapple slice." he said.
She heard chuckling behind Shawn and some of the male cops were laughing.
She glared at Shawn. "You do realize I have to seem somewhat tough around here. Sweet and tough!"
"And you do, Huggalump." he looked innocently at her.
"Are you just trying to get on my nerves?" she asked, half amused.
"Why would I want to do that, Sweet Cheeks?"
That caused some laughter and she glared at him even harder. "Shawn, you're embarrassing me."
"You're embarrassed that I called you Sweet Cheeks? Isn't that a compliment?"
"Shawn, we are at work. You cannot just embarrass me here like this!"
"But you let Declan call you "Bunny" or whatever the hell he called you."
Since when did this become a serious conversation?
Juliet's eyes shot up to meet his. "I did?"
"I guess... I guess it all depends on the person."
"So I'm more embarrassing?"
"Of course you are!" she said and he frowned. She walked around her desk and leaned against it to stand in front of him. She shooed the officers behind him away. Juliet took both of his hands.
"You're also annoying, immature, off the wall, hyperactive-"
'Jules, are you getting to a "But" anytime soon?"
"And a pain the butt! Nonetheless, I love you for it. I love you for all of it. And I really love it when you just say my name or "Jules"."
He tilted his head cutely. "Why? Everyone calls you "Juliet" and "Jules" is just shortening it."
She smiled. "Because it depends on the person saying it. When you say my name, it's so much different. It means a lot when you just say my name."
"I do take my own spin on it."
'That you do." she grinned.
"Well, I'm off to play pinball with Gus and his American Girl doll. I'll see you tonight, okay?"
She nodded. "Of course! I'll see you then."
He kissed her on the cheek. "I'm going to try and be less embarrassing."
She laughed as he turned around and begin to walk out the door.
She sighed and went back to her work. She was glad she could have this conversation with him. Now he wouldn't feel compelled to use those ridiculous nicknames.
"GOODBYE MY LITTLE BOOBOO BUNNY!" Suddenly came over the intercom and she felt the heat rush to her cheeks.
Her boyfriend, ladies and gentlemen.
She had to love him.
