I read this fic a couple of months ago and was wondering if you forgot about it or just didn't want to finish it. I'm glad you updated though, even if I had to reread the whole thing to remember the story.
I love empathic powers. I'm a huge fan of Raven from Teen Titans, and even though this is nearly completely different, it still reminds me of her. Hmm.
This last chapter was great. The insight to how Shawn escaped was tense, and the Doctor showing up at the end and making Shawn go nuts had my heart pounding erratically.
Nice job. :)
There are all types of criminals. Some are super cool art thieves. Some are big brothers who happen to be badass spies. Some are personalities that live inside innocent dudes who are, on the whole, pretty decent people. But then there are the bad ones. The murderers. The game masters. The ones that enjoy cruelty and thrive on hurt. Shawn Spencer has helped to put away all of them.
He never thought there would be a criminal he couldn't beat.
He never thought he'd be drawn into a crime that would stain him with its atrocity.
How can he be the good guy... when he's done something so bad?

Amazing detail, as usual. Love the way you describe things, though at times I get a little lost or distracted by their length. I have to mention that I noticed you switched Shaffy's pencil to a pen. If you transitioned that change, I must've missed it. Just felt like pointing it out.
My favorite line would have to be, "Her smile was like stitches bursting from a wound." My goodness, what a visual.
Can't wait to see your others stories updated as well as this one. I actually find it ironically funny that you posted it on Thanksgiving.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I appreciate the critique as well! And the pen to pencil switch was unintentional - something I shall fix right away lol! *hugs* And I really am happy you like that line, it was one of my favorites too!
Life is short; death is not. Shawn Spencer was about to learn this fact the hard way.

I just read this whole thing and I'm struck with disbelief that there aren't more reviews to this. It's incredibly good, very creative. The whole guardian/human connection was nicely thought out, and Sam is an interesting, amusing character. I like her personality.
The first chapter had me intrigued with this story, especially the trick you pulled making the reader think Juliet was dead (though I figured out it was Shawn who died pretty early on; I'm just that clever).
The second chapter, with the revealing of how Shawn died, had me emotionally attached immediately. That was an awesome scene. I found myself reading Juliet's dialogue out loud in a tortured voice. I only do that when I'm really entranced with the writing, so kudos to you. =]
I can't wait for the next chapter. "Henry Spencer", you say? Sounds like another emotional roller coaster I'd love to hop on and ride.
Listening to music while I read has always been my thing, and I've come to associate certain books with certain songs. While I read this Psychfic, I ended up putting the song "Any Other Name" by Thomas Newman on repeat. It matched the mood perfectly, in my opinion. You should check it out.

She wanted to take control of her life. He had something to prove. Unaccounted for weekends, reality, and a big secret might give them both what they're looking for...and a little bit more.
It wasn't the first time they had been called a perfect match, nor, he was sure, would it be the last.

First off - WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN?!?!?!
Secondly, you should know I found this chapter absolutely nerve-wrackingly, gut-wrenchingly, squeal-creatingly (if that's even a real word, which I don't think it is) AWESOME! I loved it. I loved ALL of your chapters.
Thirdly, that's a VERY beautiful dress. Maggie Lawson/Juliet O'Hara would totally rock it.
And finally, guess who's nominating you for best new writer? HINT: It's me.
Cuz you rock. ;P
Author's Response: Lol, well I'm glad that you are loving this, I know I'm loving writing it just as much...let's just hope when you nominate that you've read the rules so its right and doesn't get thrown out! I really appreciate it..and I'm doing my best to get another chapter out!
"I want you to imagine a bullet coming from that gun, penetrating your skin, and lodging in your brain. You know how easy that would be for me?"
But Shawn doesn't have to imagine it... because he's about to experience it.

Oooooh, you're mean for ending it on a cliffhanger like that. Highlights of this chapter would have to be Rollins' sneakiness, because it felt like I was blind as well. Great use of non-visual imagery there. AND I liked picturing Lassie hopping on one foot and dumping sand out of his shoe. Made me chuckle. Tehehe.
I'm burning with curiosity and anticipation for the next chapter. This was a great way to start my Psych day. Thank you.
Author's Response: I know! I wish I felt more guilty about that XD *cackles* Lassie always ends up with the short straw when he's interacting with Henry :) Hopefully I can end your anxious anticipation soon! I'm nearly done with the next chapter so I should be posting in a very short amount of time! *hugs!*
There was something in the back of his mind telling him he wasn’t going back to sleep until he checked it out. It was the same feeling he got when he was a kid and thought the Boogey Man was hiding under his bed, or lurking in his closet. The feeling of unknown eyes watching him. Stalking. Waiting for the precise moment when he was most vulnerable.
But he was an adult now – despite the claims from both his father and a certain head detective – and the Boogey Man wasn’t real.

This story is great! The stuttering of Lassiter's dialogue, though rather out of character, is very effective to show what he's going through. I can't wait to read about Juliet's reaction.
Nice work. Update soon, you crazy fool!
Author's Response: Thank you! I was a bit worried in bringing Lassiter to this particular level of OOC. I'm glad that my intentions show through clearly! Thank you so much!

Ohhhh ... the next chapter sounds exciting. Does Shawn wake up? Does Lassiter take his statement?
This chapter was a little slow in the beginning, but the description of Shawn being pale and lifeless and cold was so vivid that I could imagine it clearly, and my heart ached. Very awesome imagery. I loved it.

I loved this story. It was very well written, which is always a plus. And the story about Shawn at the dentist really built up the humor for the sudden "-Oh crap." nicely done!!

Today, there's one, seemingly sent by Shawn himself. With it comes a whole host of new problems from old enemies. The game has started once again, and this time, everyone has their part to play.

I love love LOVE this. I love the angst and drama to death. Can't wait to see what happens next! =]
Author's Response: Glad to hear it! Thank you! :) Oh, we still have 6-8ish more chapters. I believe it ends with Chapter Twenty Eight and then there's an epilogue. :) No worries!
