Psych is easily the most all-encompassing fandom I've ever had the delight to be a part of. Even with the series now at its end as regular series (we still remain hopeful for TV movies!) the passion for these characters has not waned!
I'm not sure I'll ever grow tired of writing for Psych.
Since 2013, I have taken over control of managing the annual Psychfic awards. I am head of the committee and I create the awards banners and update pineapple awards icons. Visit the Psychfic Awards on LiveJournal!

As of 2014, I have initiated a new Psychfic Virtual Seasons which picks up immediately after the final aired episode. Please send me an email or private message if you would like to participate as an episode writer. Writers must be members of Psychfic and have a high degree of writing aptitude in order to qualify.

I've been writing, if you want to be technical, since I was six years old. My first efforts were usually four page, stapled together picture stories about animals. I could easily drift far and wide into imagination land with my favorite characters- up to creating a whole world where I existed with them as one of their friends.
At the time, I had these stories in my head only- and it wasn't until my teen years that they began to appear on paper.
My first fanfic, if I remember correctly, was Star Trek. I don't really remember what it was about- and I think I deleted it fairly quickly. Keep in mind, I didn't have my own computer, so all my efforts were saved to a floppy disk. (yes, ancient, I know!)
My first posted piece was an X Files story. Again, I don't remember what I wrote... though this is likely for the best.
I slowly began writing more and more.
The first series that really catapulted me into fanatic was Monk. I actually joined a group- created a page- and corresponded daily with other fans. This lasted about a year or two. As it was, there was no unified gathering spot. People appeared randomly before being swallowed up once more by other interests. I eventually quit writing for the series completely.
I grew interested in anime in the meantime- dabbling with a few stories here and there. I met a like minded woman after posting one of my longer stories. She liked my work, and invited me to join her writing group called Crackbunny Syndrome. Along with two other people, they'd begun writing a story that was slowly growing from a minor bit of fun into something far, far more than ever could have been anticipated. The story can be found here: (on going) Balance of Power
It was during the second season of Psych that I first discovered Psychfic. Having only had an on and off interest in the series prior to this, my interest suddenly skyrocketed when I began reading the fanfic that was being posted here. Previously, the only fic I knew of was the material on fanfic.net. Discovering this community was simply the most fabulous online experience I've had to date.
Suddenly I was in love with the show!! Going back to watch episodes I'd missed, I wondered how I could ever have let myself miss a single one!
It wasn't long before I began writing fanfic.
I haven't stopped since.
As of this year, I am no longer taking on additional BETA work. I am currently trying to build a freelance business and simply do not have time for any additional responsibilities. I can't tell you how extremely happy I am that you updated this! This story is so very clever and unique!! I adore how you've kept the characters believable in spite of the 'other-worldly' incidents surrounding them! This is awesome!

I'm thrilled to see you again! And don't feel bad about the time between updates- I've currently got several stories in desperate need of updating myself. I'm just very happy that you continue to return! And this was wonderful!! I was totally taken by surprise when Shawn slugged Gus, and the whole scene was heartpounding!
And then you revealed that new memory about stopping Shawn's heart, and I was enraged by the doctor's cruelty as well as deeply hurt by Shawn's pain. And I saw nothing out of character with the bro-hug, and might have smacked Gus around if he HADN'T offered it!
Awesome!! I remain extremely excited by this story!

I'm so wretchedly broken for Shawn! Every chapter seems to introduce yet new torments relating to this gift which really is showing how much it really isn't a gift so much as a cruel torture. Ragged and edged out, now he's even denied the simplicity of sleep. I cannot tell you how beautiful and touching it was that he found comfort in the nursery ward. I wanted to cry at the image of him sinking down next to the resting babies. It was so tender it broke my heart! And then Henry appeared, worried and gentle and comforting- GAAH!! Epic heart shreddage!!

I am absolutely thrilled that you've uploaded a new chapter!
Before I gush, the only thing I can think of to try for the problems with uploading is to paste your chapter into the window provided and then uncheck the “tinymce” thing beneath the window. I have to do that every time or my formatting gets screwed up. I hope it works for you cause I really understand the frustration!
Now back to the fic!
I think I've said before, but I still gotta repeat, this is just such an amazingly creative and unique story! And in spite of the scifi elements it fits so wonderfully as a Psych story! You maintain the personality of the characters and really write how I could easily picture them reacting to something so extreme.
You've broken my heart in these last several chapters. Shawn's pain is so poignant and I hurt for all that he's going through. The dream was agonizing! That he was forced to suffer so terribly is bad enough but to have even the comfort of his own voice stolen from him was an extra vicious cruelty. The doctor it really a terrifying monster besides! I absolutely had not anticipated him showing up at the house! Though I'm still not certain whether he's truly there or if Shawn hallucinated him or if this is even some sort of long distance vision thing – where he knows where Shawn is but isn't physically present. So many possibilities!!
As for where to take the fic – what I want to see is what you want to see. I don't want to make a choice on what would happen – it's far more exciting for me to see what your inspiration decides on that. I trust you on this fic as you've already shown yourself to be a brilliant writer and I know the ending will be epic!
Thank you so much for continuing to work on this! I truly understand the constraints you're under and I can make myself be patient for updates! I will always remain invested in this story no matter how long it takes!
Take care of yourself!

Yep- my heart officially stopped on this one! I was all set to watch Shawn tackle the mountain again- then was sorta sad when decided not to. And then, out of nowhere- DRAMA!!! Darn it all!! And now I'm in a frenzy for the next part!

First of all- do not be paronoid, your writing is awesome! And this chapter was very well-paced, and loads of informative! I like that Gus is so active in sleuthing even while Shawn is out of it. I like that you've given us tons of clues, yet still maintained secrecy of what, exactly, is happening. The mystery level to this story is excellently retained! Personally, I think this rocks!
And don't feel bad about the mind drawing a blank! I'm having the same problem myself- so I totally sympathize!
Author's Response: Well, thank you very much, your review makes me blush (in a good way!) =)
Date: March 19, 2008 Title: Chapter 17: Step Seventeen
Okay- let me try this again, and maybe THIS time, bumping that idiotic button on the side of my mouse won't erase my review! (GOD!)
As I said before it all vanished- I love the interaction between Lassiter and his former chief, their friendship- as well as the fact that he insists on referring to the man by his former title. The mystery, also, has grown so intense with all the scattered threads of knowledge that are slowly being drawn together! I have no doubt that the final revelation will be totally thrilling! I really look forward to the next update!
I hate when that happens! Seriously, it's like one of the single most annoying thing in the fanfiction world. And do you notice that it only happens when we write really long, 'oh my gosh i can't believe how wonderfully i've made this review' reviews? Ugh! *rants to self*
Anyway... Thanks for the reivew despite the frustration. Lol. I appreciate the comments =)
Date: July 24, 2008 Title: Chapter 1: The First Step
I'm sorry for being a slacker reviewer- this story really deserves commentary! This is really the most involving and complicated mystery I think I've read so far. There are so many pieces- and I'm very impressed by how you've kept track of all the little elements. You write the characters very well- and I love the dialogue and descriptions you've provided. As well- your baddies are fantastic!
I'm really excited by this latest chapter- Shawn held hostage at a remote location with only Dad and Lassy to save him- and Lassiter currently unarmed. Yes, I anticipate much excitement in the next chapter!
Author's Response: Don't worry. I've been a pretty big slacker for your stories. I really like them but I never comment, though I will next time if that makes you review faster! Lol. Thanks so much for your kind comments, I really appreciate it.
It seemed, as it so often does, a good idea at the time. But there's company for dinner, and Shawn's not exactly sure how he got from point A to point B.
But then eating at Dad's has always been like that.Awards:

By far this is the most hilarious, and deeply character-driven pieces I've read in recent memory! I love this story, and find its subulty... subtly... subtle-ness a welcome break from the slash and maim of so many stories posted here (mine included). What I was pleasantly amused by was your mention of said stories in one of Shawn's rambling monologues- very classic! There is so much more I could comment on, but the main point I come back to is this- this story wins awesome! Thank you beyond all measurable measurments for posting this!
Hahahaha, I was afraid I was going to turn off all those people who read the first chapter and were relieved that there wasn't any whumping. I obviously fell off the bandwagon. I think we need a support group, to help us all through this trying time.
Thank you so much for seeing the character-drive behind it. That was my intent, to write a piece mostly about nothing, which could only be done using characters talking and just reacting to one another, and I'm extremely happy that someone found that part of it a really good thing. Thank you so much! I don't deserve great reviewers like you, but I'll horde you jealously to myself regardless. I'm trying to think of a good metaphor using the dragon that hordes its drove of treasures, but I can't figure out anything vaguely cool sounding, so I'll leave you with the vague but wholehearted sentiment that great reviewers are like treasure. Awesome simile, no? :)
This is not Lassiter's day. Lassiter's day would not include decaf, Shawn Spencer, or the city's third sniper victim.
Especially not this victim. Things like this aren't supposed to happen to police consultants. Or their partners...
