I am 23 and went to school at UCSB and find the Psych version of Santa Barbara (AKA Vancouver) amusing at times.

Those English papers can be great at inspiring one to do just about anything else. For me they inspired an amazing desire to clean, something I hate, just so I could put them off for a bit more.
That being said you should thank your English teacher for the inspiration, although unintentional. This is a great story and really moving. I really could see Shawn breaking down if he failed in such a way.
On another note, you are not the only one that thinks it amusing that one can review their own stories. (It is nice to give oneself a pat on the back sometimes.)
Author's Response: The best things (or the ones you've been putting off longest) seem to be inspired by the pending doom (tm) of something else you need to do. Priorities shmiorities. And am I a freak if I enjoyed breaking down Shawn? Glad to hear I'm not the only one :).
When an officer is murdered late one night while on duty, Karen forbids Shawn from getting involved, afraid he won't take the case as seriously as he should. But since when has a little thing like being banned from a case stopped Shawn Spencer?

Well, now that I just reviewed the prologue I see that there is another chapter, but no question, this one deserves a review also. Once again spot on with the characters. Shawn and Gus were perfectly well done and Chief Vick, well I did not even realize how distinctly she acted and talked until I read this story. (That might sound odd but I really mean, good job in really capturing her character.)

I think that the characters of Karen Vick and Lassiter were really spot on. Or at least I did not notice any comments or reactions that struck me as being off character. With that being said, great story so far and please update soon, I cannot wait to see how the story progresses.
Author's Response: Thanks, well this story will progress, and like I said, it might take 510,000 billion words later to get to it. You know, the ending part. Well keep checking, I plan to update on March 3rd. But you know, writers like me can never be certain when they will get stuck. So hopefullly before summer next year I'll be done.
Notes: Alternate ending to the episode "9 Lives". So obviously, some dialogue is taken straight from the show and-duh-I don't own it. And if you haven't seen the episode...don't read unless you want parts spoiled.

That was great. I love a good whumping sometimes, plus I was in a way hoping that the episode would end like this. So great story and I cannot want to read more by you.
It was supposed to be a simple case. A guy had gone missing and his sister wanted to find him. Shawn would have it solved by the next day and get back to relaxing and goofing off. But an unexpected twist and a web of lies and secrets foil the psychic’s plans. The end of this case will bring a change to this psychic’s life he never expected.

Great story so far, I cannot wait to see where it goes. I would not have thought it was the first story you have posted, it is really good. You will have to post more stories after this one because you are off to a great start.
As for the title, I think that it is fine, but I am terrible at coming up with titles as well so maybe my opinion is not the best.
Shawn does something really stupid. Really stupid, really dangerous, and something that means he's really, really screwed. Which shouldn't surprise anyone.
Especially since no one knows where he is.
