I loved this! What a clever use of the prompt - and you weaved this story with such elegance. The pacing is great, the concept simple and yet compelling. I can just picture the Psych gang running to save their resident psychic in the night - Shawn's eyes going soft as he takes in his friends' faces!

Seriously, this is great. I love the repetition and parallelism here, but the twist you added onto every line was very original. You definitely have the most creative spin on the prompt that I've seen so far. I also love the way that you laid out an entire plot in just six lines. You're awesome!
Author's Response: Eeep thank you!!! I did try very hard, so I'm glad it paid off! I wanted to go with a unique take on the phrase, and so I'm glad it came across well. Oh wow, I love that line. It's funny because it seems like Shawn is always the protective one of Gus yet Gus is actually incredibly protective of Shawn too. He always has his back, no matter what, because he really doesn't want to see his friend hurt. And if something were to happen, Shawn wasn't going to be the only one hurt/in trouble.
I just love these little snippets of their friendship.
