Oh, you are a real rat bastard for leaving this chapter with such a cliffhanger, I tell ya! But, that's good drama, too!
I am thoroughly enjoying this story so far. Everyone is in character, and I particularly enjoy the fact that you are writing Lassiter and O'Hara as competent hard working cops. Too many people write Shawn as brilliant crime-solving hero while leaving our dynamic duo out in the cold looking like nincompoops. I also LOVE the fact you don't portray Lassie as nothing but an asshole. He's not, he has a soft side, and he does care about people. You just have to get passed the hard exterior. he's like a geode - lumpy colorless rock on the outside, glittery splendor on the inside!
OOH more Shawn whump! And Henry gets to bust down a door! Woo-hoo! A very well-written story that has my absolute attention. Update soon fellow Texan!

Just writing another review to let you know that I am thoroughly enjoying this story! First of all, thank you for making the cops competent instead of having them be incompetent boobs randomly stumbling around waiting for Shawn to magically solve the case. Especially Lassiter. People forget he's the Head Detective for a damn good reason!
I always find it interesting that, though he teases & pesters Lassiter mercilessly in the series, whenever he's in trouble, Lassie is the first person he seeks out for safety. Who did he ask the "shop attendant" to call in "Shot in the Dark" when he was being chased by a killer? Was it Jules? Gus? Even his dad? NO, it was Lassie. That's cause he knows Lassiter is a bad-ass. Likewise, who does he tell about the knife in your story? Lassiter. Nice parallel to the series!
Please keep writing! I'd like to see how this ends. And thank you for the review on Helmets!

Yay! The team's on the bad guy's trail! The scene of Lassie & Jules and their different methods for questioning the nurse is funny and very in-character. I like the forensics guy too...nice description of an OMC making him a clear character already. :)
This is a great chapter for moving the case along. I'm so happy they finally got their evidence and that Shawn's doing okay now. :D Thanks!
