This was so good. You did an amazing job at writing this and making it very different from other stories. Also, I have to ask, is the title a reference to the kid's book Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day? Because if it is, you just got even more awesome points!

At least Shawn was trying to make his best friend's last moments better:) they made up, have to admit that I was worried Winnie wasn't planning on letting that happen.

I was so afraid reading it but I couldn't stop--I had to know and hope that first one and then the other wouldn't die. Absolutely fabulous job!! Thank you so much for sharing with us. I love that there are some great writers on here like you who make the long, long, long break bearable!

Wow, just wow....

Part of me is shocked speechless right now, and the rest of me is inwardly cheering.  I love how you took the classic sacrificing for the best friend, and twisted it so that it wasn't Shawn doing it, because we know he'd do jump in front of a bullet without blinking, but sometimes we might not think the same thing about Gus.  Gus just doesn't put himself out there like Shawn, but he'd still do just about anything to keep the other man safe, and Shawn would totally let the guilt, helped along in large part by Gus's parents, eat at him until he knew Gus would be OK.  And also loved Gus's way of telling him that it wasn't his fault, because Shawn might not respond all that well to simply saying "I don't blame you," so, as usual, well done <3<3<3
